Part of a collection from a former Leo Burnett executive. In 1935, during the Great Depression, Leo Burnett started a little advertising agency in Chicago and brightened the office with a bowl of red apples, prompting a pessimistic columnist to state that it wouldn’t be long before Burnett started selling apples on the street. The success that grew from those humble beginnings is still recognized with bowls of apples gracing the offices, and a tradition of annual gifts of apple themed artwork exclusively commissioned for top executives.
