These remarkable Fred Press signed glasses from the 1950s are truly exceptional. Their design evokes a sense of leisurely outdoor gatherings, such as poolside events or picnics, complemented by refreshing, ice-cold lemonade.
The glasses are robust and well-constructed, featuring a solid base for stability. They measure slightly over 5 1/2 inches in height with a mouth opening of 2 3/4 inches in width. Their substantial weight provides a reassuring feel when held.
The most distinctive feature is the intricate lemon slice motif. When illuminated, these slices appear to shimmer, resembling actual lemon slices with crystallized sugar along their edges. This visual effect is quite captivating. The lemons exhibit a yellow gel-like application over the glass, creating a sparkling appearance, and are embossed with a bubble-like glass texture around the edges to simulate a raised sugar effect.
