This original Undivided Back (UDB) postcard features a stunning view of the historic Layton Art Gallery, Milwaukee’s very first public art museum. Opened in 1888 and tragically demolished in 1957, this landmark is preserved here in beautiful color. This card was manufactured by the legendary Curt Teich & Co. of Chicago (bearing their early production number 18949 in the bottom right corner). Printed during their highly desirable early "C.T. Photo-Chromo" era, this is a prime example of the pioneering color-tinting process that made Teich one of the most famous postcard publishers in the world.
